If we live videos

I made these videos, with love for the “If we live” project. the following songs are “Jenny make ’em clap”, sang by Jenny Möller, and “Free we is”, sang by Nichelle Monroe, both songs as well as the rest of the album were produced by Kevin T. Williams. I produced the videos, directed, shot, edited, and had a blast.

“If we live” is a community effort led by Kevin T. Williams, to raise awareness and help support the “Stand up to cancer” organization.

It was a joy working with everyone to make these happen, Special thanks to Jenny Moller, Nichelle Monroe and of course Kevin T. Williams, you’re awesome!

So make some fresh popcorn, it’s showtime ;)

The “If we live” project CD is now available from CD Baby, Go there and get your copy. All proceeds go to ‘Stand Up To Cancer’.

“if we live” has a Facebook page, where you can read more about the project https://www.facebook.com/pages/If-we-Live/538059362931621

You can find my earlier blogposts about “If we live” here

A new music video to help support “Stand up to cancer”

I’m working on a new music video to help support “Stand up to cancer“.

The shots in the following video were made when we were shooting “Jenny make ’em clap”, this song is a fun love letter to Venice, California and free spirits everywhere, and is a part of the “If we live” project.

We have only one more shooting day to complete the remaining shots and then finish editing, I’m very excited.

All of the participants in this project volunteer their time and talent with the hope of helping others.

Until the video’s release, here’s a behind the scenes video, Shot by Mungai Nguku

Credits:
Lyrics & Vocals: Jenny Moller
Bass: Karl Leiker
Percussion: Al Keith; James Alibe;
Production, Guitar, background vocals and keys: Kevin T. Williams

Buy “Jenny make ’em clap”, the full album or any song on it on iTunes, and help “Stand up to cancer” by clicking here.

Using images to improve your Facebook profile

Well, It’s a double feature for me this month.
My Facebook profile images are at the top of Janine Warner‘s article, appearing this month (March 2014) on Photoshop user magazine and on layersmagazine.com.

The article titled “Attracting Friends with a Fabulous Facebook Design” came out a couple of weeks ago, You can read it here.

I was very happy to hear from Janine Warner when she contacted me. Janine told me she wanted to feature some versions of my Facebook profile, as her main example in a few publications, to show how professional photographers can use their Facebook profile.

I hardly ever give myself a tap on the shoulder, but It’s always fun to hear other people’s appreciation of what I do.
Here are a few excerpts from my messaging with Janine, in her own words:

…” My co-author and I are writing to you because we think your Facebook page design is awesome/fabulous/makes us jealous, and we want to feature you in a new book that we are writing”…

…” to showcase your profile as a shining example of all that is good, true and right about the social web… or at least a great example of a Facebook design.”

…” With your permission, we’ll publish a screenshot of the Cover design area of your profile in full color and use it to call more attention to the wonderful work that you’ve done”…

…” Well, you are certainly a great example. I was just checking again and we actually used two shots of your covers to show that a photographer like you can change images regularly to showcase your talent. Thanks for being such a great example”…

…” You’re welcome to say you’ll be featured in “Social Media Design For Dummies”, and you can throw in that we think you’re very talented!”…

Janine Warner’s best-selling books and videos about the Internet have won her an international following and earned her speaking and consulting engagements around the world. She’s the creator of DigitalFamily.com, an interactive design, and training agency that offers web and mobile design, content strategy, and … more…

You can learn and get many web and social design tips on Janine’s site, such as, What size should you make your Facebook photos?
You can’t find a better teacher.

The excellent “Social Media Design For Dummies”
is now available! I’m featured on pages 88 and 89…

A wonderful lecture about creativity by John Cleese

Creativity and creative thinking is a subject I’ve explored for many years.

I was happy to hear Cleese mentioning Edward de Bono (in one of his creative thinking videos that were published and removed from youtube many times), I started finding interest in De Bono’s ideas about creative thinking when I was still a photographer assistant in training.
