This Sunday I had a special treat, a horse foal was born. This baby horse was born just a few hours earlier. It was a “Bambi” moment for me when I went to see the newborn princess.
I like driving out-of-town to visit friends. I like walking in nature, enjoying the views and the animals, taking pictures of all I find interesting. This trip was very rewarding, cuteness ruled the day.

I shot this image of San Gabriel mountains from a Cessna 182 a few years ago, Shot it and forgot about it.
Sometimes I return from a trip and just don’t have the time to handle all the images that are not work-related, I try to do it, but now and then Some images escape me.
I revisited this image 2 days ago and decided to develop it again.
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 allows me more control than I had in earlier versions, It feels more organic now, a little more like how I would treat the image in the chemical darkroom.
So from being obscured, this image is now one of my favorite images.
These impressionist sunflower images are favorites of mine.
Wherever I am, There’s always something that catches my eye as frame-worthy, And even when I don’t have my SLR camera, I always have my phone with me.
Using a smart-phone to capture quality, memorable images is challenging because phones have fixed wide-angle lenses, It makes every little move more critical to the composition, I always work until I get what I want. after all, The best camera is the one you have at hand and I made sure I’ll have the best phone camera I could find! Looking at these images later, I’ve seen the potential for making Impressionist artwork of them and so I worked the images to express this style.

Children photography in general and specifically children playing is one of my favorite subjects, and what’s better for a spring entry than a child playing in a wheat field?
Children photography is as challenging as it is rewarding, it is a specialty, Being able to connect with the child is very important. I am very good at capturing kids in a natural environment, keeping you with everlasting memories. I am very attentive to the surroundings and work with the child within their “attention zone” to create images you’ll want to share.

Twilight time is one of my favorite moments for shooting, Just before the sun sets. This golden hour is turning the sky into a huge, very low-key softbox and when the sun is low enough I get these few moments of light I really like.
This weekend I was visiting a friend whom I used to ride with, he moved his horses from a ranch to his back yard a few weeks ago so I went to see the new tenants.
Being around horses is very special, these herbivores are beautiful and are among my favorite subjects.
While shooting portraits of her mom, this sweet 5-year-old wanted some camera attention. As soon as her Mom left to change for the next set, I asked her to come up to the set and pretend she’s Mommy, she knew exactly what to do.
After a few smiles at the camera she was drawn into the computer and didn’t mind the camera anymore.
Climbing trees and playing outdoors were my favorite activities when I was this kid’s age, My fascination with computers started when I was well into my 20’s. For the last 10 years, I build and keep up all my computers and love doing that.
I didn’t find computers very practical for myself until Photoshop 3 came out. Looking at these images made me think whose childhood is more fulfilling, the tree climbers or the tech kids? I don’t have an answer for that.
